Living in Auckland, New Zealand, Rob Tucker (b.1987) has established himself as a unique presence in the art world with his interpretations of still lifes, of architecture and figurative landscapes. Its artistic expression is marked by geometric shapes, clean forms and a vivid color palette. They demonstrate the aesthetics of a suspended time while evoking the spirit of David Hockney, Henri Matisse, and simple compositions of Giorgio Morandi. Tucker’s still lifes show his fascination with space and form. Its use of cheerful colors, even exuberant, allows to create a contrast and an effect with bold painted lines associated with pastels and softer colors.
"Over time, I have refined my style and technique - still lifes and figurative landscapes made with geometric shapes, simplified forms and a colorful palette. Oversized, textured and graphic, my work is an exploration of color and composition. I like to approach my subjects in a playful way, trying to achieve a whimsical, harmonious and light result".
His artistic career has taken him around the world, exhibiting in leading art centers such as London, New York, Venice, Los Angeles and Berlin.
