Conceptual artist who, unlike the Orthodox representatives of such a tendency, has always intentionally preferred to "alter" his works with sociological, religious and political content. His conceptualism is guided by questions about Cuban social life. Intellectual, rational and analytical artist, he clearly tends to take a critical position within art. After having developed his work around Cuban beliefs of African origin, establishing a link between the social, the religious, the ritual and the myth from the interpretation of symbols and the composition of poetic metaphors, art thus became for him a weapon of confrontation and denunciation, an act of faith in freedom and democracy. Vincench has created and continues to produce one of the most daring, courageous and important works of contemporary Cuban art.
