In any good Kenyan school, a teacher is more than someone who relays
information–– they are a mentor, guide and sometimes disciplinarian
who call out the best in their students. Thandiwe holds fond memories
of her student days, diligently jotting down answers to questions from
her study material, within a sun-dappled classroom. Constructed using
two black-and-white beaded earrings as the base, paired with sections
of the classic, global biro pen sprinting from the frames, Camo 43
represents the pursuit of academic achievement. A bright visual to the
mentors, teachers, guides and synthesizers of knowledge. Camo 43
honors those whose knowledge and teaching makes navigating our
world easier- the Dr. Joyce Nyairos and Dr. Awino Okechs of Kenya.
